Home cleaning needs to be done on a regular basis, but for some of us this is the most dreaded chore of all. If you are one of the many people who truly dislike cleaning don't worry because there are simple steps that you can take to make your home cleaning quick, simple, and painless!

Creating a Home Cleaning Schedule

It is better to split your home cleaning up in to smaller cleaning jobs. These jobs can then be spread over a period of a few days to a week depending on the size of your home and the amount of cleaning you need to do on a regular basis. There will be areas of cleaning that should be completed every day to help minimize the mess that can accumulate over time.

The first step is to sit down and make a list of the areas of your home that need to be cleaned most often. Then you can filter in the areas that need less cleaning time.

Main Home Cleaning Areas

The main areas of your home which require the most cleaning time are your living room, child's play room, kitchen, and bathroom. Generally the bedrooms and other rooms that are not the main living space in your house do not become as cluttered or dirty on a daily basis. The areas of your home such as basements or attics can be cleaned a few times each year especially if they are only used as a general storage area in your home.

Home Cleaning Supplies

In order to effectively clean your home it is essential to have the correct cleaning supplies to complete each cleaning job. Certain cleaners can not be used on all surfaces so always make sure to read the label carefully before using it in your home. You should also make sure that the cleaning agents you use will not affect your family's well being especially if someone in the home has asthma or any other condition making them more sensitive to certain chemicals.

Basic cleaning supplies every home should have:

  • Broom
  • Dust pan and brush
  • Mop
  • Bucket
  • Vacuum Cleaner
  • Towels for dusting furniture
  • Paper Towels
  • Pledge or other dusting agent
  • Multi-Purpose Cleanser
  • Comet or another abrasive cleanser
  • Toilet cleanser
  • Windex
  • Febreze
  • Pine-Sol
  • Mr. Clean Magic Erasers
  • Any other cleaning agents of your choice

All areas that do not need regular every day cleaning can be spread out of a weeks time. You do not have to clean your entire home in one day. It is easier to seperate the jobs up over a period of time because this allows you to spend time doing th

Home Cleaning Routine

Once you develop your own personal cleaning routine it will help you to lessen the amount time each day you spend cleaning your home. It is necessary to clean up a little bit each day by putting away any items that are out of place such as; coats, purses, school work, toys, etc. By separating your home in to different cleaning areas you can help to lessen the stress of having to clean your entire home within one days time.

If you have older children you can assign them certain chores that are age appropriate to help lighten the cleaning load. It is important to make sure that your child is capable of completing his/hers assigned chores easily and safely! You should also teach your child/children to clean up their toys when they are done playing with them to help minimize the clutter and mess in your home on a daily basis. When every person in a household works together the home stays much cleaner for a longer period of time and this allows you spend more quality time with your family instead of using that time to clean!
