Low Cost Weddings - Wedding Planning For Less - Getting Married With Minimal Spending

What is a wedding?
A wedding is the joining of two individuals who are promising to spend the rest of their lives together. The important foundation for this special day is the love and trust between the two people involved. The amount of money you spend to become married has no relevance in this special occasion.
It does not matter how much it costs you to be married. The more money you spend does not dictate how much happiness you will have over the future years you spend together. In today's economy a large wedding may not fit your budget, also if you have children it may not be possible to spend a lot of money on one day's events. There are many other factors that play a role in how we decide to plan our wedding day.
Wedding Planning For Less
What are the most important aspects of a wedding day? For us it is joining together in marriage in front of our families, children, and close friends. It is also important for us to create long lasting memories for both us and our children. We had originally planned a big wedding which would have included a reception and so forth, but after a lot of thinking we decided to go a cheaper route.
We decided to be married in our local magistrate office in front of the judge. In attendance to our marriage will be our children, parents, siblings, and close family friends. You may choose to have a small wedding in a church if that better suites your needs. We are not having a reception afterwards. Instead we plan on having a memorable day with our children to celebrate the joining of our families.
Low Cost Receptions
If you decide to have a reception you can do this for at a low cost. A simple way to do this is by supplying your own music and food. You can also ask guest to bring a covered dish and/or drinks. You can have it in a hall or in a relatives backyard, the choice is up to you. This will really save you a lot of money by not having to hire a DJ or caterer.
Bride and Groom Dress Attire
You do not need a big expensive over-the-top dress to have the perfect wedding day. Any dress or other outfit you feel comfortable in will do just fine. Why spend all your money on a dress you will only wear once? If you insist on wearing a big wedding dress consider purchasing a preowned one, you can really save money this way. The men may prefer to wear casual slacks and shirts instead of renting a suit.
Wedding Rings
The wedding rings are the one item you want to look at closely. You do not want to go cheap in this area and in return receive a cheap quality ring. There are many options out there, so take your time in choosing your rings. We decided on Tungsten Carbide wedding rings that we found for a relatively inexpensive price. So depending on your taste you may be able to save in this area too.
Memories Are Most Important
Memories are the most important part of your wedding day, not the amount of money you spend to make it happen. A higher price tag does not guarantee better memories. As long as you are happy on your special day is all that matters. It is you day so go out and enjoy it creating long lasting memories!!

Nice chart at the bottom! Thanks for the Hub - I agree that it's not about the costs! You can do a lot while keeping the prices as a reasonable level. I see people doing more lunch weddings and buying dresses at less expensive places.
